Today’s post includes those releases and updates that have come out since July 20, including Percona Distribution for MySQL 8.0.20, a single solution with the best and most critical enterprise components from the MySQL open source community, and Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.2.1, for making consistent backups of MongoDB sharded clusters.
Percona Kubernetes Operator for Percona XtraDB Cluster 1.5.0
On July 21, 2020, Percona Kubernetes Operator for Percona XtraDB Cluster 1.5.0 was released with many new features and improvements, as well as bug fixes. Some of the new features include automatic synchronization of MySQL users with ProxySQL, HAProxy Support, and fully automated minor version updates (Smart Update).
Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.20-11
Percona Server for MySQL 8.0.20-11 was also released on July 21, 2020. It includes all the features and bug fixes available in MySQL 8.0.20 Community Edition in addition to enterprise-grade features developed by Percona. As of 8.0.20-11, the Percona Parallel Doublewrite buffer implementation has been removed and has been replaced with the Oracle MySQL implementation.
Percona Distribution for MySQL 8.0.20
Our third release on July 21, 2020, was Percona Distribution for MySQL 8.0.20. It is a single solution with the best and most critical enterprise components from the MySQL open source community, designed and tested to work together, and provides two deployment variants: one is based on Percona Server for MySQL and another one is based on Percona XtraDB Cluster.
Percona Server for MySQL 5.6.49-89.0
July 27, 2020, we released Percona Server for MySQL 5.6.49-89.0, which includes all the features and bug fixes available in MySQL 5.6.49 Community Edition in addition to enterprise-grade features developed by Percona. In this version, several bugs were fixed, including when Optimizer was not picking the best execution plan for Primary Key lookup and an incorrect result when constant equality expression is used in LEFT JOIN condition
Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.2.1
July 27, 2020, also saw the release of Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.2.1, a distributed, low-impact solution for consistent backups of MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets. In this version, a “pbm-speed-test” binary for debian packages was included.
