Change the default project directory in Netbeans
Close NetBeans
Find the projectui.properties file. For Windows it was under C:\Users\i88ca\AppData\Roaming\NetBeans\11.2\config\Preferences\org\netbeans\modules\projectui.properties
The projectsFolder=C:\\NetBeansProjects variable is what you want to change.
